Allergen & Ingredient Disclosure Policy
Every ingredient in Instant Dye Shampoo, disclosed in full.
This page lists exactly what’s in your bottle, flags the ingredients most likely to cause a reaction, explains how our formula is made and handled, and tells you exactly how to reach us for a Safety Data Sheet or an ingredient question. Nothing here is simplified or left out.
Everything in the bottle, grouped by what it does
This is the complete ingredient list published on the Instant Dye Shampoo carton and on the product page, grouped here by function so it’s easier to scan. If a batch formulation ever changes, this list — and the carton it ships with — is updated first; see “Ingredient Change Notifications” below.
Base, cleansing & conditioning agents
Color-developing agents (known allergen sources)
Preservatives, stabilizers & developers
Botanical extracts, oils & fragrance
Sourcing and quality control. Every ingredient is sourced from suppliers who provide a certificate of analysis for each batch. Incoming raw materials are checked against our formulation specification before a batch is approved, and the ingredient panel published on our site and printed on the carton is verified to match what’s actually in that batch before it ships.
The ingredients most likely to cause a reaction
No formula is risk-free for every person. The ingredients below are the ones most commonly associated with allergic or irritant reactions in oxidative hair dye, based on published dermatological and regulatory sources, and they are exactly why we require a patch test before every application.
p-Phenylenediamine (PPD)
PPD and related aminophenols (p-Aminophenol, m-Aminophenol, 2-Methylresorcinol) are the primary color-developing agents. They are a recognized cause of allergic contact dermatitis in a minority of users, ranging from mild redness to, rarely, a more significant reaction. This is the single most important reason a patch test is required.
Hydrogen peroxide
Used to activate the color-developing agents. It can cause irritation, dryness, or a burning sensation on broken or highly sensitive skin, which is why we advise against use on scalps with cuts, sunburn, or active dermatitis.
Botanical extracts
Ginseng root, ginger root, jojoba seed oil, and macadamia seed oil are included for conditioning benefits. Plant-derived ingredients are a less common but real source of allergic reaction for people with specific botanical sensitivities — always check this list against any known plant allergies you have.
If you have a known allergy to hair dye, PPD, or any ingredient listed above, do not use this product without first consulting a physician or dermatologist — patch testing reduces risk but cannot rule out every possible reaction, particularly for people with an already-diagnosed sensitivity.
How we manage shared-line manufacturing risk
What “cross-contamination” means here
Instant Dye Shampoo is manufactured on equipment that also produces other shades within our own seven-shade range. Between production runs of different shades, equipment is cleaned and flushed according to our manufacturer’s standard operating procedure before the next shade is filled, to minimize pigment carryover between batches.
What we can’t guarantee
Because color pigments are difficult to remove completely from shared equipment at a microscopic level, we can’t guarantee a batch is entirely free of trace amounts of a different shade’s pigment. We also can’t guarantee our facility is free of other allergens beyond the ingredients listed on our label, since we don’t operate a single-purpose, allergen-isolated production line. If you have a severe, diagnosed allergy, review the full ingredient list with your physician before use.
How to get a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this product
Our Safety Data Sheet covers hazard classification, handling and storage guidance, and first-aid measures for Instant Dye Shampoo. It’s written for professional and regulatory reference alongside the consumer-facing carton warnings, so we make it available directly rather than publishing it as a stand-alone download.
Requesting your SDS
Email help@polarhairofficial.com with the subject line “Safety Data Sheet Request,” and include the shade and lot/batch number printed on your carton if you have it. We typically respond within two business days during our support hours below with a PDF copy of the current SDS.
How we handle a formulation change, if one happens
The listing is updated first
If a supplier substitution or formulation update changes the ingredient list, the ingredient panel on the product page and on this policy is updated before the new batch is offered for sale — never after.
The carton reflects the batch
Every carton lists the exact ingredients in that specific batch. If you’re comparing a bottle in hand to this page, the printed carton is always the definitive reference for that unit.
We’ll tell you directly
Customers who’ve opted in to marketing emails are notified of any material formulation change affecting allergens or active ingredients. You can also always check with us directly at help@polarhairofficial.com before reordering if you want to confirm nothing has changed.
We do not describe this product as “hypoallergenic”
Polar Hair Co Inc does not use the word “hypoallergenic,” “allergy-free,” or “allergy-safe” to describe Instant Dye Shampoo, anywhere on our site or packaging. Because the formula contains PPD, hydrogen peroxide, and botanical extracts that are documented allergen sources, no accurate claim of that kind can be made. Ammonia-free — a claim we do make, and one that refers specifically to the absence of ammonia — is not the same thing as hypoallergenic, and shouldn’t be read as one.
What to do before, during, and after use
Review the full ingredient list above
Compare it against any allergies or sensitivities you already know about, including plant and botanical allergies.
Consult a physician or dermatologist first
Especially if you’ve reacted to hair dye before, have a diagnosed PPD allergy, or have a skin or scalp condition.
Patch test at least 24 hours ahead
Every time, even if you’ve used this product or another hair dye without issue before. See our Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability Policy for full patch-test guidance.
Stop immediately if you notice a reaction
Rinse thoroughly with cool water and stop use if you experience itching, burning, swelling, redness, or hives during or after application. Seek medical attention for any severe or spreading reaction.
Tell us what happened
Email help@polarhairofficial.com so we can document the report and help with a return under our 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee.
